Here we are in May of 2015 already! And what’s right around the corner? The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic over in Durango, Colorado!
La Mesa RV Park is located in Cortez, less than an hour from Durango. And every year more and more cyclists and visitors come to the area for the Iron Horse. This year the racing will start on Saturday, May 23rd. So if you haven’t worked out where you’ll be staying yet give us a call. We’re already into our busy season, so it wouldn’t hurt to see how many spots we have available for the weekend of the 23rd!
If you’re looking to attend the race as a rider or spectator, and you’d like to visit more of what the area has to offer, stop by our park! We’re less than 10 miles from Mesa Verde, a short drive to the Anasazi Heritage Center, and less than an hour to Hovenweep National Monument. Enjoy the Iron Horse for the weekend, and then spend a few more days visiting the 4 Corners region.
Finally, for cyclists who also enjoy off road riding as well as the road racing happening in Durango, Cortez is home to “Phil’s World,” a very well known mountain biking area. So once you’re done with the pavement riding, why not take another kind of ride in Cortez!
