The 24th annual parade of lights will take place in downtown Cortez on December 7th of 2013. The parade is always a great event in town and worth a visit.
If you plan your travel right you could also attend the Mesa Verde Holiday Open House on December 5th. The events are only two days apart, leaving you some time to take in the other sites in the Four Corners / Mesa Verde area.
